THE KIDS’ RUN

Kids get in on the fun as well on Saturday. We offer a 2K course that is perfect for kids ages 5 and older who are not quite ready for the 5K course. This flat and non-technical loop around the pond in the festival area is a great way to get them involved in the weekend fun. Plus, they will get their own race shirts as part of their entry. Plus, the top three boys and girls finishes will receive awards.

5K RACE

Saturday – 11:00 a.m.

Our course is a 5-kilometer, off-road roller coaster on well-maintained XC trails that twist, turn, and roll their way through the forest. The trails are level, wide (12′), and non-technical with no roots or rocks, but very hilly. Although there are no major climbs, the rolling terrain is unrelenting. The surface of the trails is mainly grass and dirt sprinkled with pine needles, pinecones, twigs, and small stones. Trail running shoes are recommended but not necessary. It is a great introduction to the exciting world of trail running.

Elevation Gain: 240 ft.

Awards are given to the top 3 men and women and the top man and women in the following age groups: Under-20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. A team prize will also be given to the team with the fastest combined time of the top 4 team members.

1.5 MILE MOUNTAIN CLIMB

Saturday – 11:30 a.m.

Have an affinity for hills? We have just the race for you. Starting at basecamp near the Stoackade Lodge, you’ll ascend a dirt and gravel access road to the peak of Gunstock Mountain near the Panorama Pub. The race finishes at the peak, where you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views over Lake Winnipesaukee to the east. Don’t feel like running or hiking back down? We’ll have rides on the chairlift that offer scenic views on your way back to basecamp.

Elevation Gain: 1,191 ft.

Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers.
